UNC Health Chatham PETAL Award 

Have you received or noticed a loved one receiving exceptional support from the professionals working alongside nurses at UNC Health Chatham? When you nominate someone for a PETAL Award, you recognize that individual’s efforts to provide you and yours with the highest quality of care.  

PETAL stands for Professionalism, Expertise, Talent, and Leadership. The award is given to any teammate, other than nurses, at UNC Health Chatham (for nursing recognition, please see our DAISY Award page).   

When one of our professionals is nominated by a patient, their loved one or a fellow teammate, the nomination is reviewed by the Chatham Executive Team. Recipients are recognized in front of their colleagues, patients and families. Each recipient receives a PETAL pin. Next time you’re at a UNC Health Chatham location, keep an eye out for a PETAL pin worn proudly by our team members.
