UNC Health Chatham Announces Scott Ratcliff as a 2026 Leadership Excellence Award Recipient
UNC Health Chatham is proud to announce that Scott Ratcliff, Director of Imaging, has been selected as the recipient of the UNC Health Chatham Leadership Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership, service and commitment to patients, teammates and the community.
The Leadership Excellence Award recognizes directors, managers and supervisors who consistently demonstrate excellence and alignment with UNC Health Chatham’s core values. Presented semiannually, the award honors leaders who exemplify service, teamwork and a commitment to delivering exceptional care.
Ratcliff was selected following a nomination cycle in which he stood out for receiving multiple strong testimonials recognizing his steady leadership and collaborative spirit. Colleagues highlighted his role in expanding imaging services, supporting the addition of cardiac ultrasound, improving access to radiology procedures and fostering a positive department culture marked by strong teamwork and low staff turnover.
Through his leadership of the Radiology Department, Ratcliff has been recognized for embodying the values of “One Great Team” and “Leading the Way.” His efforts have helped strengthen diagnostic imaging services for the community while reinforcing a culture of service excellence across UNC Health Chatham.
“As a leader, you are only as good as the team you support,” said Ratcliff when presented with the award. “I am so appreciative of the support we received from our hospital’s leadership and the team that I work alongside to provide care for our patients.”
In nominations submitted on his behalf, Ratcliff was described as a leader who consistently goes the extra mile, supports both patients and teammates, and leads by example with professionalism, kindness and a hands-on approach. His colleagues praised his ability to find solutions, accommodate patient needs and create an environment where staff feel respected and empowered to do their best work.
Ratcliff was recognized during UNC Health Chatham’s Hospital Week festivities which included annual service and leadership awards recognition, honoring the many teammates whose work helps advance high-quality care across the organization.
