Dr. Mohammad Soleimani
UNC Health Chatham warmly welcomes Dr. Mohammad Soleimani to our surgical services team. Dr. Soleimani is a distinguished ophthalmologist specializing in corneal disease, cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and ocular surface transplantation. He completed his medical education and residency at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, followed by fellowships at the University of Illinois at Chicago. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Soleimani joined the University of North Carolina's Kittner Eye Center in 2024 as a Professor of Ophthalmology, Vice Chair of Quality, and Cornea Fellowship Program Director. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles, serves on editorial boards, and leads international collaborations in AI applications in ophthalmology.
Dr. Soleimani has mentored over 260 students, residents, and fellows, and is a member of several scientific associations. His contributions have earned him numerous awards, and he is dedicated to reducing health disparities through charity work.
