Team Chatham Heart Walk Raises Money for the American Heart Association

September 17, 2019 Siler City, NC - UNC Chatham Hospital hosted a Heart Walk to make a positive impact in the lives of all those who are affected by heart disease and stroke. On Thursday September 12, 2019, 44 employees and community members came together to walk a half mile loop around the hospital's campus. Even with summer temperatures lingering, participants were spirited and raised $1,125.00.

The money raised will go to:

  • Getting up-to-the-minute research into doctors’ hands so they can better present and treat heart disease among patients.
  • Groundbreaking pediatric heart and stroke research that is key to saving babies’ lives.
  • Providing information that can save a lifelike how to eat better, how to recognize the warning signs of a heart attack, and how to talk to a doctor about critical health choices.
  • Funding research programs that have contributed to many important scientific advances, such as the first artificial heart valve.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a success!
